About Concerted Networks Concerted Networks is a holding company for a series of subsidiary entities that together effect community development in smaller, charming, yet underutilized US cities. Concerted Networks’ primary differentiator is information technology. IT comes into play with respect to the Web-based tools developed to allow multiple stakeholders to synchronize their efforts and with respect to the software industry targeted for economic development purposes. Concerted Networks’ comprehensive economic development methodology, the results of which are called digital basins, helps municipalities attract IT workers. And these workers, in turn, attract software firms that together bring economic prosperity to the clustered communities that make up the basins. Given its cost of living, quality of life and proximity to population centers benefits, Upstate New York has been selected as the location of the first digital basin. Actually, four distinct clusters of charming cities have been identified as potential digital basins. These basin candidates are anchored by Hamburg (near Buffalo), Canandaigua (near Rochester), Auburn near Syracuse) and Saratoga Springs (near Albany). Not surprisingly, Concerted Networks’ first subsidiary is called NY Digital Basins (NYDB). NY Digital Basins is a community development consulting firm that makes money by “selling hours” of consulting expertise and by licensing helpful Web based technologies to digital basin member communities. Finally, to facilitate the establishment and operation of successful digital basins, Concerted Networks owns two other subsidiaries, each representing an ancillary and specialized line of business: Digital Cricket and Concerted Investments.
